前水頭的「漲九降」卻不是一般的「漲九降」，

因為這不是迎接東北風的東北角海岸，而是金門內海的西南端。

金門和大陸對岸的海灣，圍成了東北西南走向的「金門內海」，

每逢漲潮，海水由外海向內流，

水頭碼頭與九宮碼頭之間的水道，海水也由外海湧入。

而東北季風正好由東北向西南吹拂，

兩股相對的海流匯聚在內海西南，水頭附近，讓水位漲得特別高，

以致這個不是東北岸的海邊，「降九降」現象特別嚴重！
