金門安全農業示範農戶黃順達，與太太林玉玲，在后水頭自家農地經營兩人的開心農場，堅持不要農藥，以有機肥料取代化學肥料，將收入投資設備，前後歷經十年的時間，迄今從不斷失敗和淘汰中，找到種植小蕃茄的方法，儼然成為地區專家，蟬連金門縣安全農業示範農戶第一名。
黃順達、林玉玲形容，每一次的付出和投注心力無法用金錢來計算，從數不清失敗中找到一絲成果，這種喜悅無法以言語形容。這個工作即便辛苦，但很值得，兩人不在意大餐和華服，反而更珍惜因此而換來的精神上享受。
黃順達少年時因為家中環境苦，吃怕了地瓜全餐而先斬後奏報效國家，服務二十一年退休後返金才開始接觸農業，從打工兼差培養出興趣，他的父親曾調侃他是年少不懂事，年老才要學種田。
黃順達，十年前因為疼老婆，種她喜歡吃的草莓，開始有了新頭銜-農夫。他並試植芭樂、小蕃茄等蔬果，在不斷的失敗時，恰巧碰上金門縣政府推廣安全農業，而成為示範農戶，讓他開始接受專業指導，加上有興趣投入鑽研，不僅認識病蟲害防範，學會如何讓蔬果更健康，更透過整枝、疏果等步驟，讓果實長得非常好，兼具賣相和色相，深受民眾喜愛。
黃順達說，一路走來十年時間，成為安全農戶是一個轉捩點，在縣府、農委會補助下，以及專業知識提昇，開始改善設施，增加專業用具，一改過往土法煉鋼的方式。自行摸索出一套方法而有現今的規模。主要種植小蕃茄，一分地大的果園，種植金玉、橙蜜香、桃太郎（中果）三品項小蕃茄，從種植、照料到收成，全部仰賴手工，看似十分辛苦，但夫妻倆生活十分滿足。
黃順達從不斷試驗中，他清楚防治方式，但堅持絕對不用農藥，目的只有一個，不只攸關自我身體健康，更要讓消費者食用安心，並為環境保育盡一份心力。他的太太林玉玲表示，不只如此，在收成時也堅持甜度一定要達到標準才能採摘。早期常對於他過度堅持而失敗感到相當不捨，面對付之一炬的果實，心在淌血還是要繼續努力；不看眼前而想成功的喜悅才能支撐著兩人向前行。
林玉玲也補充，之所以有這樣的信念是因為家是兩個人的，不論失敗或成功都是兩個人的事，必須要一起完成。而她也是這樣教育孩子，自幼訓練子女一起做家事，現在孩子大了，放假回來，就是自己最享受的時刻。
林玉玲說，獲獎是一大肯定，全手工的工作中，雖然辛苦，但伴隨收音機傳來的動人音樂，點綴著田園忙碌的情景，讓他們更忘卻辛勞；平常不愛華服、大餐，求的是簡單與閒暇，偶爾心血來潮在家中欣賞音樂更成為兩人最大的生活享受。
黃順達退役後，花十年時間歷經失敗和考驗，興趣讓他勇往直前，摸索出種植的方法，每年九月起分四批種植小蕃茄，白紙黑字寫下種植紀錄，陸續收成至翌年五月，結實纍纍，色相、賣相極佳，甜度可以見證他的堅持更是品質保證。以致他的小蕃茄深受鄉親喜愛，亦是不少公家單位團購的首選。
