歡慶的春節過後，「2012金門迎城隍活動」即將拉開序幕，昨日召開第一次推動委員會議，由縣長李沃士主持。今年的金門迎城隍活動將於四月九日展開，至五月六日止，為期長達二十八天，除了常態性體驗及展演活動之外，也規劃有多項主軸活動，以及被文化總會納入「東亞閩南文化」活動內，更能走出金門迎城隍的亮點與傳統廟會文化的特色。
縣長李沃士在昨天舉行的金門迎城隍推動委員會第一次推動會議表示，這兩年的金門迎城隍受到台灣地區城隍廟聯誼會認可與支持，並與浯島城隍廟管委會聯絡，希望將今年年會移師金門舉辦，且共襄盛會，並也樂見金門迎城隍受到大陸重視及參與。
金門迎城隍活動規模一年比一年擴大，也打造出屬於金門的迎城隍廟會與觀光活動，李縣長指出，文化總會也已將金門、台南的迎城隍，納入到東亞閩南文化活動之中，也希望在今年的迎城隍活動有些新元素加入，邀請委員就活動具體項目進行研討及提出寶貴意見；經定案之後，再由相關單位一起研商和落實，相信今年會走出更有亮點的金門迎城隍活動。
縣府交旅局在簡報時表示，2012金門迎城隍活動自今年四月九日至五月六日止，傳統412遶境定於五月二日舉辦；全國城隍聯誼會約有廿餘家、一千人來金參與。值得一提的，千年來第一次離開大陸武當山的玄天上帝金身，應金城鎮北鎮廟之邀將於四月十日來金門六天，並舉辦祈福法會及武術交流、劍術表演，可望形成兩岸重大宗教交流活動。
交旅局指出，金門迎城隍的主軸活動尚有創意點子王＊10，以及第一屆浯島城隍盃～兩岸三地國際藝陣大賽。至於常態性體驗及展演活動規劃有：傳統戲曲表演、九天民俗技藝團巡演、城隍印象～兩岸文物交流展、專人導覽美麗後浦小鎮、心「城」則靈～祈福活動（發放祈願卡、城隍香火袋）、活動吉祥物代言（如城隍爺、文武判……）、陣頭體驗（迎輦成年禮、踩街嘉年華、傳統藝陣體驗）。
在金門迎城隍活動配套措施有邀請台灣、大陸地區宮廟、媒體行銷及記者發佈會、網路宣導及行銷、邀請旅行同業及媒體踩線、宣傳摺頁海報及活動手冊印製、在地產業促銷優惠、協調機＋酒優惠價格與招攬自助旅行遊客、配合兩岸旅展行銷推廣、金酒主題酒紀念酒販售、青年壯遊台灣（邀請青輔會參與）、網路行銷金門地方特產，以及有全年度迎城隍築底工作。
去年大陸地區有五家、二百七十四人，來金參與迎城隍遶境活動；今年仍持續邀請大陸福建地區城隍廟來金參與盛會；李縣長希望增加大陸宮廟參與家數，責成民政局及早規劃，並就相關事宜進行討論作法，以增進兩岸宗教交流機會，促進來金門自由行的觀光。
2012金門迎城隍活動遶境將以本地傳統遶境隊伍和陣頭為主；非屬本地傳統陣頭，由城隍廟管委會安排以副場域概念表演；並將擴大學生參與，各校列為學生校外教學之鄉土文化教材之一。李縣長指出，今年迎城隍仍將以「祥和」、「復古」、「傳統」為主題，走出金門大型廟會自己的特色，並邀地方及大陸陣頭參與遶境，發揮交流與傳承的精神。
金門文化局在今年迎城隍活動也將配合辦理迎城隍攝影比賽、城隍印象兩岸交流展，以及配合文化總會辦理東亞閩南文化活動，也將邀請大陸廈門傳統戲曲來金門表演。
大陸武當山玄天上帝除將來金參與，也將進行武術交流及劍術表演，李縣長責成由文化局規劃安排展演時程，以及邀請地方民俗團體參與表演，讓表演活動更有可看性與豐富度，也形成兩岸宗教交流活動之一。
與會委員建議說，今年農曆潤四月，稱之為「大條年」，建議舉辦「請火」活動，以及克服困難恢復傳統「馬上吹」表演，並在城區佈置夜間景觀，以及在適當地點規劃攤位，以帶動觀光和炒熱412迎城隍歡樂氣氛。
另外，承辦單位提出今年412迎城隍為非假日時段（週三），是否參加者給予公假一日或比照冬至將其訂為本縣活動日，放假一日，以鼓勵機關學校關心鄉土文化，李縣長責成與人事室研究是否可行，並對於各子題加速開闢、規劃，及召開工作討論會議趕快推動；尤以行銷是重要的一環，將金門推銷出去。
